Auditions for 26 Miles by Quiara Alegria Hudes, directed by Julie Beckman

Location: Seattle, WA

Type: Theater

Latino Theatre Projects is presenting 26 Miles, by Pulitzer winner Quiara Alegria Hudes at West of Lenin March 16-April 8, 2017.

THE STORY:

Olivia has been estranged from her Cuban-American mother for eight years, involuntarily torn apart by a nasty custody dispute. When she finds herself alone, scared and violently throwing up, she calls her mother who impetuously kidnaps the 15 yr old and takes her on a road trip to Yellowstone. In the process, we get to know this beautiful and broken family and the ways each of them has been loved and wounded.

“Charming, spunky, and ultimately heart-rending…The road trip from Paoli, PA, to Yellowstone Park is transforming and restorative.” —NY Times. “Irresistible family drama…The play’s greatest triumph is Beatriz…Frantic, foolish and unapologetically direct, Beatriz is one of the most original and refreshing matriarchs to come to any stage in a long, long time.” —Denver Post.
