AMC’s new TV series “The Son” is beginning production in Austin Texas and now casting background actors.
Extras casting directors for the upcoming AMC series are now looking to cast paid extras that are available to work on set in Austin between June and September 2016. The show is looking for Austin area locals that have a flexible schedule and able to work 1 or more days during the work week (Monday through Friday.)
The show recently held an open casting call for “The Son“ and is still accepting submissions via email. The series is set in the old west so knowing how to ride a horse may be a plus.
AMC’s “The Son” is a TV adaptation of a book written by Philipp Meyer, Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy. The upcoming show is set during the late 1800’s and tells the story of Eli McCullough and his family through the Texas oil boom of that time. The oil discovery in Texas caused rapid growth in the region, brought on an era of industrialization that made America a superpower.
“The Son” is a multi-generational saga spanning 6 generations of the McCullough family. According to Deadline, Sam Neill (Peaky Blinders) takes the lead of Eli, the patriarch of the McCullough family. Eli’s birth marked the day Texas became an independent Republic, which in turn resulted in his nickname, “First Son of Texas.”
Austin area talent interested in landing a small role in the show may follow the instructions below to submit their photos and contact information to Brock / Allen Casting. Please note that the CD’s are only considering talent local to the Austin Texas area as no travel expenses are being paid.
