Movie casting for kids in NYC
NYC kids who can pull off a 70’s look – GWC in New York City is now casting kids ages 9 to 13 to work as paid background actors on Amazon’s upcoming original film “Wonderstruck” which is currently filming in NY. The film’s casting directors are seeking children to play kids in the 70s. Specifically, they are seeking Caucasian girls with medium hair length, Caucasian boys with shaggy hair, African American children with natural hair. There may be some required haircuts for those cast in the roles and the kids chosen will need to attend a costume fitting in Manhattan. There are multiple work days on this with most days falling on a weekend beginning at the end of the month and running through June.
“Wonderstruck” is a period film based on the Brian Selznick’s children’s novel. The Amazon original film will star Julianne Moore and according to The Wrap will be directed by Todd Hayne. “Wonderstruck” follows the intertwined narratives of two deaf children, Ben and Rose. Ben lives with his family in Minnesota in 1977, when a mysterious note prompts him to run off to New York following his mother’s death. Rose, who is locked in a house in 1927 New Jersey, also escapes to New York to see her idol, film actress Lillian Mayhew. The film will be set in 2 very different decades, the 20s and the 70s as it follows the interconnected lives of Ben and Rose.

This scene takes place in 1977. must have some length to their hair. Hair should be shaggy and come over the ears or styled in a kinky or curly afro. No crew cuts, shaved heads, etc.
Dyed & highlighted hair is fine but no bright unnatural colors (blue, pink, purple, green, etc).

This scene takes place in 1977 and will require women who are mostly pretty slender with hair all different lengths but no longer than mid-chest length. Dyed & highlighted hair is fine but no bright unnatural colors (blue, pink, purple, green, etc). Men must have some length to their hair. No crew cuts, shaved heads, etc.
