Jessica Biel and Bill Pullman are set to star in in the hour long drama, “The Sinner” and the project has casting notices out for SC area extras.
The pilot for the new show is currently filming in various areas of South Carolina and has released casting calls in the area for locals that would like to make some extra cash by working as paid extras.
According to Variety, USA has ordered the pilot and Biel is also serving as one of the show’s executive producers.
“The Sinner” follows a mother, played by Biel who for some unknown reason commits some violent acts after going into a fit of rage. The show is described as a crime thriller where the who is not the unknown part, rather, it’s the why that no one can explain. The search for the answers leads her down a dark path into her past and the secrets that may be hidden there to explain the why. In the story, an investigator becomes obsessed with getting to the truth and follows her down the dark path to find the explanation. Bill Pullman will play Detective Harry Ambrose in the pilot.
“The Sinner” is based on a novel by Petra Hammesfahr. The show is created by Derek Simonds (“The Astronauts Wives Club”) and Antonio Campos is set to direct the pilot. Variety also reports that Jessica Biel is also attached to Rob Reiner’s “Shock and Awe,” which is also currently in production and has released casting notices as well this past week.
