Students from the University of Alabama are consulting with New Orleans film production company Court 13 to produce a short film. The students are creating a powerful period piece about race relations and police brutality. They are currently looking for actors from all over the southeast to film. The actors will be paid per diem with lodging and reimbursement for gas. The project will be shot on March 24th-27th
Henry Roberts is a young actor that wants more than his small southern town can provide. He has recently started performing in minstrel shows and hopes that his performances as a blackface/minstrel actor can lead to stardom. Henry’s focus on his acting career has kept him shielded from the racial violence of his community. However, when the meek actor spends an evening with his childhood best friend his world closes in on him as he witnesses the violence of his community.

Veteran Officer Booth knows everything about his small southern town. He takes great pride in keeping a watchful eye on his community. As one of the most respected men in his community Ware has a great sense of power that comes from his position of authority. Living in the south his entire life Ware understands and has been a participator in the racial tension and racial violence of his town. Because of his racial views Ware will make a costly mistake.
Lawrence [African-American] [18-24]

Body type: Slim/Slender
After a day of searching for jobs and spending time with his friends, Lawrence decides to take a short cut home by walking through the white side of town. Knowing that a black man has recently been accused of killing a white woman and racial tensions are high Lawrence is apprehensive about his decision. When he runs into Walter and Henry he realizes he’s made a fatal mistake.
Wesley King [Male] [35-45] [Caucasian]

Wesley King is the leader of a hate group in his town. Inspired by the Ku Klux Klan’s march on Washington Wesley hopes to create his own chapter of the Klan within his community. Full of charisma and charm Wesley is a natural leader and easily gains the support and enthusiasm of the people in his town. Wesley orchestrates the lynching of a black man to cement himself as a leader in his community.
