Casting Lead Role & Supporting Role for Indie Film in Austin

By | July 7, 2016

Rebecca

Location: Austin, Texas

Type: Film

Synopsis: A schoolteacher preoccupied with the effect of her last name, Lizard, combined with her slightly green skin tone, doubts the strength of her longterm relationship with beautiful girlfriend, Hilda. Rebecca Lizard’s unfounded jealousy escalates until Hilda reveals that she doesn’t, in fact, care for Rebecca’s green skin but loves her in spite of it. Rebecca, a romantic comedy short based on the story by Donald Barthelme, portrays this absurd scenario in a tragi-comic attempt to reconstruct the unexplainable and enigmatic experience of love.

Open Roles:

Rebecca — Lead (All Ethnicities/ Female/ 25-35) — Rebecca is stubborn and full of fire beneath her curious exterior. Tired after a long day of being green, she picks a fight with her girlfriend when she gets home.

Hilda — Supporting: All Ethnicities/ Female/ 25-35 — Hilda is warm and wise. Her presence is easygoing, peaceful and somewhat playful in contrast to Rebecca’s.

Note: There is no physical intimacy in the script, but chemistry between the two characters is important. If there are pairs of actors/ friends who are interested in reading together rather than auditioning separately I would be psyched to accommodate that.

Payment: Non Paid

City or Location of call: Austin, Texas
