Casting Call is out for background talent / extras for Marvel’s Black Panther.
Marvel’s upcoming “Black Panther” movie will be coming to the Atlanta area for production at the beginning of 2017 and is now getting a jump start on casting extras for available roles that will work a few days in the end of January of 2017 and beginning of February 2017. Atlanta’s Tammy Smith Casting is now looking for Korean talent ages 18 to 70 and locals who want to work as extras. There are also some featured roles up for grabs it seems and they are casting ASAP as certain roles will be picked by the movies director.
According to the below casting call, the Marvel project will be setting up some scenes which will be made to look like they take place in South Korea but in actuality are filming in Atlanta. The notice states that they will be needing quite a few Korean extras to set up the scene and story. They are seeking all types of Korean talent with a variety of looks from all walks of life and are especially in need of talent ages 40 to 60.
According to the the IMDB page for “Black Panther,” the movie stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker and Lupita Nyong’o. Ryan Coogler (“Creed“) is set to direct with Joe Robert Cole and Coogler credited as writers. Fans of ‘Black Panther” still have a bit of a wait as the movie is set to hit theaters in early 2018.
Talent living in Atlanta may follow the directions below to get their photos and contact info to the movie’s casting team. Please note that this particular casting call is ONLY for Korean talent. As filming gets underway in 2017, there should be many more casting calls released for other types and ethnicities. A large part of the movie is set in Africa and there were previous casting calls that came out over the summer looking for African American extras.
Please only apply if you completely fit the description and are available during the listed time frame. If you do not fit the description, there should be plenty more chances to get a small part as production gets underway.
