CW’s The Originals Casting Call in ATL for 117 AD Flashback Scene

CW’s “The Originals” is in production and currently casting men and women with natural looks.

The series will be filming a flashback scene next week and is looking to fill background roles of people living during the Vikings age.  The scene will be filming on the 8th of this month around the Conyers, Georgia area.

“The Originals” first aired back in 2013 as a spin-off of the popular “Vampire Diaries” series. The show set is focus on one of the vampire families as they return to New Orleans and attempt to regain their place in the city they once controlled.

Back in the spring, The CW announced the lineup for their fall 2016 / 2017 Tv shows and surprisingly, “The Originals” was not on that list. Fans of “The Originals” were disappointed to hear that the series would not be joining “Vampire Diaries” in the fall and would actually air at a later date. Also, held back was CW’s “The 100” series which got pushed back to a January 2017 premiere. On CW’s website, “The Originals” is not listed under their current shows and appears in a section called “also on CW,” where they also list cancelled shows such as “Containment.”

According to TV Line, during a conference call with CW network president Mark Pedowitz they found out that the show was being held back to allow other shows to air at that time. TV Line reports that Pedowitz spoke of his decision and told reporters, “We have a very strong schedule. We still believe quite a bit in The Originals. We only have 10 hours, so we made a choice to [hold it] to further boost our schedule at midseason.”  Another concern was raised about the future of “Vampire Diaries” which has been rumored to be coming to an end with season 8 of “Vampire Diaries” being its last. Apparently, Pedowitz also stated that as far as “Vampire Diaries” is concerned, the network has not yet made any decision as to whether it will return for season 9. Pedowitz stated “No decision has been made one way or the other,” he maintained, before adding, “My dream is it isn’t [the final season].” Collider, which just updated a list of show renewals and cancellations does  list “Vampire Diaries” as ending after season 8.
