CASTING CALL!
SEEKING ACTORS FOR SHORT FILM (NON UNION) UNIVERSITY OF TAMPA FILM & MEDIA ARTS SENIOR THESIS FILM.
Chimera is a dramatic thriller that explores the difficulties of college life and dealing with mental illness, specifically schizophrenia. A college kid starts his junior year the same as the past years: parties, friends, and girls. What he doesn’t know is he will begin to experience psychotic episodes including audio and visual hallucinations- key symptoms in schizophrenia. While he spends more and more time with the girl nobody sees, his grips on reality slip. Shooting begins October 8th and ends November 20th (if need be).
Available Lead Roles:
CALLAHAN: 20 yrs old, outgoing (at first), becomes distant, confused, easily manipulated, shows signs of schizophrenia. (Lead)
MERA: a metaphor for Callahan’s schizophrenia- only he sees her.
Manipulative, conniving, jealous, only wants to consume Callahan. (Lead)
DAME: 20 yrs old, Callahan’s best friend. Caring, thoughtful,
outgoing, adventurous, only wants what’s best for Callahan. (Minor role)

Compensation: No pay, Will have snacks and drinks provided, digital copy of final film that can be used for acting resume.
