The new season of “Longmire” is now filming in New Mexico and needs mug shots.
The show has a casting call out for New Mexico extras. That’s right, the show is looking for a few good… bad pictures. The show’s casting director, Robert Baxter, has a casting call out for extras. Unlike most extras calls that require talent to come to the set, this one seems to only want your picture. The show will be filming a scene that requires some “mug shot” type photos of ladies between the ages of 30 and 50. The show’s casting team is requesting that interested talent send in their “best” mug shot taken from the chest up, against a white wall. If selected, that photo may be used in an upcoming episode and the talent that was selected will be contacted with further information.
“Longmire” has been a fan favorite for sometime. When A&E, the show’s original network cancelled the series after a few seasons, fans weren’t happy about the cancellation and spoke up about it. Someone was listing because Netflix picked up the series.
The cancellation triggered one of the biggest outpourings of fan support ever for an axed TV series. The cast members, led by Robert Taylor and Katee Sackhoff, all made deals with Netflix and the show made the move to the streaming television provider last year. According to Variety, the show is coming back for another season, season 5 on Netflix. Netflix made the renewal announcement last fall and the new season is now filming in the Santa Fe and Albuquerque areas of New Mexico.
The show is a crime drama set in a largely rural area of Wyoming, however, it films in New Mexico. “Longmire” originally premiered on A&E in 2012. It stayed at A&E for 3 seasons and was picked up by Netflix beginning with season 4. “Longmire” is created by Hunt Baldwin and John Coveny who also executive produce the drama along with Greer Shephard and Michael Robin.
The series is based on the “Walt Longmire Mysteries” books which were written by Craig Johnson. “Longmire” stars Robert Taylor, Katee Sackhoff, Bailey Chase, Adam Bartley, Cassidy Freeman, and Lou Diamond Phillips.
