Another new casting call has been released for the movie “Hidden Figures” which stars Tariji P. Henson.
The film is a period piece set in the 50s and 60s. Casing directors at Marinella Hume are looking for Atlanta Georgia locals who are able to look like they fit right in during that time period. The casting team for the movie is looking for lots of locals who would like to work as paid movie extras and there is a casting call out for core extras. Since this is a period piece, everyone cast will required to attend a costume fitting.
The movie is casting MALES & FEMALES in their mid 20’s to mid 40’s between 5’5 and 6’1 tall, who look like catalog models – J.Crew, Express, H&M, Brooks Brothers, Vineyard Vines, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Saks 5th, etc. Looking for blonde, brunette, and red headed males as well as females.
The scenes will be filming later this month with a paid fitting required for the scenes. Talent applying must have a natural, 50s or 60s look and must be willing to get a 50s style haircut.

The FOX studios movie focuses on the space race of the 50s and the African American scientists who worked behind the scenes to launch the first American into orbit. The movie currently being called “Hidden Figures” (AKA “To The Moon and Back“) is based on Margot Lee Shetterly’s book “Hidden Figures: The Story of the African-American Women Who Helped Win the Space Race.” The movie adaptation focuses on African American mathematician, Katherine Johnson. Taraji P. Henson is set to play the scientist. Tariji recently got a Golden Globe for her work as Cookie on the FOX hit TV series, “Empire.”
“Hidden Figures” will focus on Johnson, who along with her colleagues Dorothy Vaughn and Mary Jackson, served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in U.S. history, John Glenn’s historic launch into space. The three women crossed all gender, race and professional lines while embarking on the mission. John Glenn flew the Friendship 7 mission in 1962 which was the fist mission to successfully orbit the Earth and return home safely.
