New Netflix TV show “Stranger Things” is casting military types in Atlanta
The series has been filming in the Atlanta area since the fall and is scheduled to film through April 2016. Casting Taylor Made, The show’s extras casting directors have a new call out for 2 Caucasian kids, a boy and a girl, between the ages of 6 and 13 years old for a 70s flashback scene filming on the 7th of this month in the Atlanta area.
The new supernatural themed streaming series was previously called “Montauk” and originally set in the Long Island (Montauk) NY area. Seems that has now changed. The show’s new setting is Indiana. Netflix new series stars Winona Ryder and David Harbour and is written and directed by Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer (“Wayward Pines,” “Hidden”). The show also includes quite a few kids. Back in May, the show held auditions for kids to star in the show and seems they have now found their young cast.
According to Variety, Netflix has found it’s lead child actor in Finn Wolfhard who stars as Mike, a bullied 12-year-old who becomes an unlikely hero in the quest to save his best friend. The show is filming 8 episodes for season 1 which focuses on the disappearance of a young boy. As the mystery unfolds, secret government experiments come to light and supernatural forces seem to be at work. Other kids cast in the show include Millie Brown (“Intruders”) as a very strange little girl, Gaten Matarazzo (“Les Misérables”), Caleb McLaughlin (“The Lion King”), Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer (“I Believe in Unicorns”); and Charlie Heaton.
According to a Netflix press release, the first season of “Stanger Things” (“Montauk”) which will premiere on Netflix in 2016.
