Movie auditions for teens

Filmmaker Santiago Pozo is working on a new film and has launched a talent search to fill two principal roles.

The movie project is holding online video auditions for kids, boys 10 to 14 years old to play a Mexican American boy who is on the run. The casting search is for one of the lead roles and the casting directors are seeking a Latino teen actor who is preferably Bi-lingual (English / Spanish). Also, the movie is looking to fill the role of Senor Juan, an older Mexican man who is between the ages of 50 and 80 with a weathered look.

Santiago Pozo is a Latino film producer, writer and director who founded Arenas Entertainment. The Arenas studio produces films aimed at the Hispanic market in the US.

“The Run” — A fallen Olympic track hero, whose crumbling life has reduced her to coaching a high school track team, stumbles on a running phenomenon, a disenchanted 13-year old Mexican-American boy she sees as her ticket back to the spotlight. But her dreams of guiding him to the world stage are dashed when he suddenly takes off running form Tucson, Arizona to Mexico City, Mexico hoping he can bring on a miracle to save his dying father. She must then chase him for 1200 perilous and unpredictable miles.

Santiago Pozo Casting Search, “THE RUN”

J.D. ESCONDIDO BRAVO – Male to portray Latino/13 years old (age 10-14 to play 13). J.D. is a scrawny, indigenous looking Mexican-American boy. A fast runner, escaping from something that neither he, nor we, yet know.

LEAD. Bi-lingual preferred. It’s best if J.D. can speak fluent English (he was born & raised in the US); ability to speak Spanish a plus.

SENOR JUAN – Male. To portray Mexican/late 50s to early 80s. Dark-skinned, weathered, indigenous-looking. Even in his advanced age, he is still agile and trim. He is the spiritual village doctor of the small town where Harper & J.D. are forced to stop when their vehicle breaks down.

A shepherd by trade, he tends to his herd of goats and also to the spiritual needs of his fellow villagers. SUPPORTING. Bi-lingual preferred. Character speaks broken English w/Mexican accent.

Actors applying will need to create a video and submit the video audition through the movie’s website.  Experience is not required, on the contrary, the production states… We want you to be yourself! We are not looking for someone to “act” this. We don’t want this to sound like a “character.” It should be in your own voice – like you are really talking w/someone.

All submissions should go through our casting website: www.theruncasting.com.

I think I might fit the boy role! I’m a tanned 14 year old boy who is currently doing drama and Spanish for GSCE! I think I could fit the role but the problem is: I live in the UK. Is there anyway you can email me so we can talk about this? Thanks!
