OPEN CALL FOR WOMEN SINGERS
Seeking experienced women singers, amateur and professional, based in the New York City area between the approximate ages of 40 – 70 years old to participate in a work by an eminent visual artist.
The piece will be presented as part of Public Art Fund’s outdoor summer exhibition between June and September 2016. As the leader in its field, Public Art Fund brings dynamic contemporary art to a broad audience in New York City and beyond by mounting ambitious free exhibitions of international scope and impact that offer the public powerful experiences with art and the urban environment.
Working hours are FLEXIBLE, Monday to Sunday between 7am and 7pm. Singers would ideally commit to 2 – 3 times per week in shifts of around 3 hours, during the open hours of the exhibition.
No stage or professional experience necessary, but singers should feel comfortable singing alone and a capella.
This work is paid and if chosen, participants must provide, in advance of first rehearsal, proof of legal eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship.
Candidates should be available for a 1-hour-long unpaid audition between 15 – 19 April, 2016. If selected, singers should also be available for two 2-hour-long paid rehearsal periods, between April 20 – 25 and another on June 27. The working period is June 28 through September 30, 2016.
