Casting call in Pittsburgh PA for upcoming TV series

Pittsburgh’s Mosser casting is now casting Pittsburgh PA locals to work as paid extras in the upcoming Netflix series “Mindhunter.” The 70s set show is looking to cast men and women between the ages of 18 and 65 who can pull off that 70s look as well extras for a few other roles.

The Netflix original series is currently filming in the Pittsburgh PA area and is looking for new talent to fill small, non-speaking roles.  The show is interested in casting people who have yet to work on the project. Please see the casting notice below for all the details.

David Fincher, the man behind Netflix hit political drama “House of Cards” has a new show coming up called “Mindhunter.”  Fincher (“Gone Girl, “Fight Club”) is co-producing the series with actress Charlize Theron who starred in “Mad Max: Fury Road.”  According to THR,  The show was originally developed at HBO for Fox 21 and comes from Fincher and Charlize Theron’s Denver and Delilah banner. Netflix has hired “The Road” writer, Joe Penhall to write the script . David Fincher is directing the show’s premiere episode.

The new show is described as a crime drama focusing on 2 FBI agents that are tasked with solving serial crimes by diving into the minds of serial killers.  The upcoming Netflix show  is based on the 1996 book Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit by John Douglas and Mark Olshanker. John Douglas spent decades developing criminal-profiling techniques for the FBI and teamed with writer Olshanker for the story of his 25-year career tracking down serial killers.

THR also reported that Holt McCallany (“Lights Out”, “Hamilton on Broadway”) has joined the new cast which includes “Fringe’s” Anna Torv and “Looking’s” Jonathan Groff.   Holt McCallany plays detective Bill Tench. Anna Torv is on-board as Wendy, a psychologist working with the agents and Jonathan Groff is cast for the role of Holden, a special agent at the FBI.
