Journey to Him Gospel Stage Play

This is a rush call! Journey to Him, written and directed by Auslin Williams, is a stage play that focuses on love, how to acquire love, maintain love, and get over love, all while tackling some taboo topics in the African-American community. Some of these topics include divorce, self-esteem, lust, and hatred. In our community, too often we sweep things under the rug instead of dealing with them head on; therein leading down the road to disaster, in many different forms. This play will definitely address some of those issues. The play chronicles the lives of 6 people as they journey from selfishness to selflessness. By the end of their journey, they realize that true love is found only in Christ.
Characters Needed:
- Luz – Recently divorced mother of 2 who has chosen to leave her husband and children to pursue a life with her true love, Traci.
- Preston – Family friend who adds comedic relief to all stressful situations. Preston is a college graduate and successful man, but enjoys hanging out with his close friends.
- Jahmar – The typical “Mr. Wonderful”. His swag and demeanor woos any woman at initial meeting. He says the right things, wears the right things, and is the ideal man of every woman’s dreams.
