ROLES:
Sam Adams (Sam Malone) — male, 40s
Subject to and satire of masculinity. A promiscuous narcissist. Competitive, impulsive, but still somehow charming.
John Hancock (Woody Boyd) — male, 20s/30s
Off-center mentality, misunderstanding others’ comments. Kind, simple, and eager.
Benjamin Franklin (Cliff Clavin) — male, 40’s-60’s? Ridiculed by friends and enemies alike for his know-it-all attitude. Has a fact for every occasion and doesn’t know when to quit.
Carla Traetta (Carla Tortelli) — female, 40s
A human fireball. Feisty, worldly-wise, sarcastic and always has a wisecrack. Quick to temper, not to forgiveness.
Paul Revere (Norm Peterson) — male, 40s
Always has a beer and a comeback. Best friends with Franklin, though not always. Nothing comes between him and his beer.
Betsy Ross (Diane Chambers) — female, 30s
Full of gumption and chutzpah, sometimes too innocent for her own good, but always ready with a retort.
John Adams (Frasier Crane) — male, 40s
Flawed, silly, pompous, and full of himself, yet kind and vulnerable. Intelligent, insightful, but stubborn.
Gov. Thomas Hutchison — male, 40s/50s
British Governor of Massachusetts. Incredibly posh, self-righteous, quick to judgment, but overall, still, unbelievably posh.
George Washington/John Adams, Sr (Martin Crane) — male, 60s
Very down-to-earth and unpretentious. His tastes are generally simple. Unaffected, yet stubborn in his ways.

Fastidious, snobby and fussy. Obsessive-compulsive.
Needs to prove himself, yet is also overly-confident.
Abigail Adams (Roz Doyle) — female, 30s
Strong, gentle, sarcastic, but with a teasing kindness. Forthright when she needs to be, but comforting when it’s called for.
Esther Briesler (Daphne Moon) — female, 30s
Mostly kind and down-to-earth, often perplexed and exasperated by John Adams. Has many eccentricities. Often tells rambling stories.
John Quincy Adams (Frederick Crane) — male, teens/20s
Stubborn, rebellious, and somewhat immature.
