Auditions announced for upcoming Hugh Jackman movie, “The Greatest Showman on Earth”
The film’s cast also includes Zac Efron, Zendaya and Michelle Williams. The 20th Century FOX film is looking for additional cast members and there is a casting call going on now. The principal roles being cast are quite specific and actors fitting the role descriptions are welcome to submit a self taped, video audition.
The movie covers showman P.T. Barnum as he creates Barnum and Bailey Circus in 1881. The roles up for grabs are those of circus performers, specifically, O’Clancy, the tallest man on Earth, General Tom Thumb and The Lord of Leeds. Casting directors with Telsey and Company are now accepting self taped auditions from actors that fit the descriptions which are listed below.
“The Greatest Showman on Earth” is described as the story of American showman P.T. Barnum, founder of the circus that became the famous traveling Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
According to the movie’s IMDB page, THE GREATEST SHOWMAN is an original musical inspired by the life of P.T. Barnum, starring Hugh Jackman. Barnum was a visionary who rose from nothing to create the “Greatest Show on Earth,” a spectacle and celebration of his larger-than-life imagination that captivated audiences around the globe. Deadline reports that Hugh Jackman will be playing P.T. Barnum in the film. Zendaya, who also stars in the upcoming Spider-Man movie, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” will be playing a major role as Zac Efrons girl friend. By the way, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” is also now in production and has been releasing numerous casting calls for background roles.
The film is being produced by Chernin Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation. “The Greatest Showman on Earth” is currently scheduled to hit theaters around Christmas 2017.
