Little Willie Jr.’s Resurrection is a stage play by playwright Oscar L. Johnson. The play originally premiered in Philadelphia, Pa in the late 70’s and made its way to Washington DC, Detroit and London England.
The play is an adaptation of Oscar’s book of the same title. Presented as a dramatic new musical experience that chronicles 6 generations from slavery to today.
Gospel music legend Johnny Thompson was tapped during that period to compose the 16 song playlist and Douglas H. Roy has been hired to ‘update’ the soundtrack.
The original cast was comprised of local acting standouts – Darrah Gustafson, Kathleen Marshall, Roosevelt Robinson, Arlene Mills, Jan Ellis Scruggs, Eric Stevens and Ayries Lancaster.
Cno5strong Entertainment Group, LLC acquired the full rights to the musical and has spent the past 2 years redeveloping the script and music to reflect today’s theater audiences.
Cno5Strong Entertainment Group is casting for a diverse actor/singer roster.
Needed are Female/Male Caucasian actors that have experience in lead/support roles and have the vocal abilities to shine as stars thru the songs. Actors 20 – 50 years of age wanted.
Also needed are African-American actors that have experience in lead/support roles and have the vocal abilities to shine as stars thru the songs. Actors 20 – 50 years of age wanted.
