Los Angeles/Orange County World Music Ensemble Auditioning for Lead Singers.
Mostly Kosher (www.mostlykosher.com), a Los Angeles based Post-Klezmer band, is holding auditions for talented and experienced lead singers/entertainers for the following:
CALIFORNIA DISNEYLAND PARKS
We have a two month contract to perform daily at the Disneyland California Adventure park in California. 2-3 vocalists will be contracted to sub in rotation for lead singer throughout the season. Rehearsals begin in October and performances begin November 10th to January 7th. Performance days would consist of 6 twenty minute shows from approximately 10am-6:30pm at the Disneyland Parks. Performances and rehearsals are paid at competitive rates.
FLORIDA DISNEYWORLD PARKS
We have a 37 day contract to perform at the Disney World parks in Orlando, Florida. Rehearsals begin in October in Los Angeles area. Performances in Orlando, Florida will be November 24th to December 30th of which two vocalists will be cast and scheduled for 50% of the dates and must be available to sub for their counterpart, if necessary. Performances and rehearsals are paid at competitive rates.
An on-site rehearsal in Florida will be either Nov 21 or Nov 22
Vocalists need to be available to arrive in Florida on Nov 21, leave Dec 31 and STAY FOR THE DURATION OF THE RESIDENCY.
Housing accommodations will be provided. All 12 musicians will be provided housing in a 2800 sq. ft. luxury home in Lake Berkley, Kissimmee, FL, 5 miles from the Disney resort. The home is fully furnished with 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Musicians may need to share rooms, but each will have his/her own bed. Cable TV in every bedroom. Free wifi. Fully equipped kitchen. Overlooks the lake. Private pool. Game room.
Round-trip flight to Florida will be provided.
A rental van will be provided for daily transportation to/from Disney parks.
Costumes will be provided.
Meals not provided.
ABOUT MOSTLY KOSHER
Mostly Kosher, the acclaimed Post-Klezmer Indie band, radically reconstructs Judaic and American cultural musical roots through ravenous klezmer beats and arresting Yiddish refrains. Mostly Kosher is a musical feast that explodes into a global food-fight of Jazz, Latin, Rock, Hip
Hop, and Folk. The most recent accolade for the band was a 2 month-long run of performances as the first live Jewish music ensemble at the Disneyland Parks Resort. This was the first Jewish music ensemble in Disney’s 60 years of existence. SINGER REQUIREMENTS:
– Ability to sing diverse musical styles (classical, musical theater, jazz, rock etc)
– Must have strong musical and rhythmic sensibility (sight reading is a PLUS)
– Excellent stage presence with high energy
– Experienced and comfortable in creating genuine connection with both large and intimate
audiences
– Collaborative spirit
– Dependability and availability
– Male range (A2 to G4) or Female range (A3 to G5)
– Theater or acting skills
– Jewish or strong familiarity with Jewish culture and languages (Hebrew, Yiddish, and
Ladino) is a PLUS
– Instrumentalists are a PLUS, please bring instrument to audition.
– Band leading skills are necessary
