Palace of the End

Location: Toronto, ON

Type: Theater

Quarter Century Theatre is Collingwood’s premiere contemporary theatre company. We have just wrapped our inaugural production of Salt-Water Moon and we are eager to dive into our spring show!

Judith Thompson’s Palace of the End is a bold, edgy examination of the Iraq war from the Gulf War through to the early 2000s. Following three real historical figures whose lives were impacted by the war, this play is shocking, unapologetic and beautiful. We are casting for two of the three roles.

DR DAVID KELLY- Mae, 50-70. British/Welsh microbiologist and weapons inspector who worked for the Ministry of Defence in the early 2000s.

NEHRJAS AL SAFFARH- Female, 35-50. Iraqi mother and leader of resistance campaign against Saddam Hussein during Gulf War.

Those selected for an audition will be asked to present one monologue and a short original piece on ‘guilt and regret’. This can be a dance, a poem, a song, a painting or anything of the artist’s choosing. The only stipulation is that it must be original.
