Casting call for “Step Up” TV series.
The “Step Up” TV series is now in production in the Atlanta area and there is a casting call out for extras of all types, 18+.
The show held video and online auditions for the lead roles in “Step Up“ this past Spring and now they are casting once again for background actors, featured extras and stand-ins for the show’s production.
Channing Tatum’s hit flick “Step Up” is now filming the TV series. Lionsgate Television and YouTube Red are working on a series version of the popular dance oriented movie. The Step Up TV show was ordered last year and represents a joint effort between Youtube’s streaming service Red and Lionsgate. “Step Up” is a movie franchise that stars husband / wife team Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum. According to the show’s IMDB page, Susan Daniels of YouTube Red stated “We know dance is a hugely successfully global audience on YouTube.” Lionsgate Television Group Chairman Kevin Beggs also stated “After five exciting and successful movies, we’re proud to partner with YouTube Red, a major new force on the programming landscape,” … “to adapt the films into an adrenaline-filled original drama series driven by its non-stop energy, spectacular dancing and A-list creative talent…”
YouTube is joining other streaming networks that have recently made the jump into the original scripted series space. The streaming video provider gave a straight-to-series order to “Step Up,” a new dance oriented TV drama that is based on the movie franchise which starred Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum. The movie franchise grossed $650 million worldwide at the box office.
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum are also involved in the project as producers. This will be YouTube’s first big budget, original scripted series and it will premiere on YouTube’s Red subscription service sometime this year.
