Casting Speaking Roles in Student Film Project in Rochester, NY

Camera Obscura – Student Thesis

Location: Rochester, NY

Type: Film

CASTING CALL for THESIS
I will be shooting a scene from my Thesis script, Camera Obscura on April 29th (one day only)

Logline: Struggling to overcome the pain of his dead wife, a 19th-century photographer, amid the Civil War, tries to figure out how to use his vocation as a means of moving on.

ROLES:
Rutherford Holding (30-50): photographer still tortured by the death of his wife. Now surrounded by the dead of the Civil War, he tries to make sense of it all as he is one of the first witnesses of the carnage.

Lt. George Porter (35-55): A soldier who fought at Gettysburg. Wounded but was left for dead. Holding and his assistant found him days later and rushed him to the nearest field hospital. Delirious and heartbroken.

Emily LaBelle (20-45): An accomplished nurse who has seen too much of the despicable consequences of war. Her cynicism is only matched by unwavering professionalism.

James Grierson (20-35): Holding’s assistant. A budding photographer who looks up to Holding.

The Narrator: See that this shoot will be a combination of a scene and a table read, I am looking for someone who will be omnipotent voice that reads the action of the script. This role will be in scene, itself. Anyone with rich, reassuring voice is welcome!

Roles are not paid but food will be provided and it should be quite a fun time.
