Casting El Gallo, Matt (The Boy) and 2 Fathers!
We have received a lot of video auditions for all other characters and will accept more. Many have received call backs. But we still need more men for the following roles:
El Gallo (The Narrator -ANY ETHNICITY) – A rakish, handsome, sophisticated gallant. He is warm, cordial and inviting to the audience but has his own darker moments. He aids the performers in orchestrating the story. Tall, dark and handsome.
Vocal Range: G4-Ab2. Age 30-50.
Matt (The Boy) – An innocent young man searching for love and adventure. A bright guy but naive and even foolish at times, approaching situations with a false bravado.
Vocal range G4-A2. Age 18-25. (plays 17 year old)
Hucklebee (Boy’s Father) – A former boisterous Navy man and now meticulous gardener who fakes a fight with his neighbor, Ballomy, in hopes of getting their children to fall in love. Vocal range F#4-A2. Age 40-60.
Bellomy (Girl’s Father) – A fastidious button-maker and also a picky gardener as above. Vocal range F#4-A2
