“Her Spirit”

CASTING ASIAN ACTORS! (PREFERABLY JAPANESE-SPEAKING BUT NOT REQUIRED)
Logline: “Her Spirit” is a samurai action drama that tells the story of a young samurai, who, after hearing the news of the murder of his wife, sets out seeking vengeance upon the bandits that killed her in an epic film about life, loss, and the spirit one leaves behind when they pass away.
Run Time: Short (5-7 min)
Roles:
HARUTO (18-30) A youthful samurai
KIMIKO (18-30) A feisty young woman and Haruto’s wife
HACHIRO (40-60) Haruto’s wise, hardened samurai father
BANDIT #1 (20-30’s) A drunk, fearless bandit
BANDIT #2 (20-30’s) A drunk, fearless bandit
BANDIT #3 (20-30’s) A drunk, fearless bandit
GUIDE (18-30) A young, fearful assistant to Kimiko

Shooting Schedule: January-February (1-2 weekends) and one weekend for rehearsals for the role of HARUTO and THE BANDITS.
Filming Location: TBD, will most likely film at local State Parks near the Denver area.
Project Description: This extraordinary project requires some sword fighting choreography on the part of the leading roles of HARUTO and THE BANDITS, who will need to be present for one weekend of rehearsals additionally but we promise some epic reel footage for you. We would love an all-Asian cast, and fluency in Japanese (reading and speaking) would also be great, not necessary. We hope to hear from you soon!
