Auditions for “Lilith,” an experimental song cycle The House of Hello (www.thehouseofhello.com) is holding auditions for female voices for “Lilith,”an experimental song cycle based on the ancient apocryphal character. Developed in conjunction with Red Eye Theater’s Works In Progress program, “Lilith” is a new work that uses music, lyric, and physicality to explore, in the librettist’s words, “one of the world’s oldest and most fundamental hit pieces – the literal demonization of the very first female figure in existence (according to Abrahamic tradition, at least).” We are seeking strong female voices with exceptional musicality as well as diverse performance experience including with new and developing works. Selections from the full piece will be presented in May at the Red Eye Theater Works In Progress festival.
Please prepare a short musical selection and bring sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided. At this time we are only auditioning female voices – future auditions may include musicians and other singers. No appointments at this time, auditioners will be seen in the order they arrive.
