Casting Notice for “The Fight”
Synopsis: “The Fight” is a quirky, cute PSA made for the AdoptUSKids.org Multiple Choice Parenting campaign. A loving father tries to help his daughter cope after a fight with her best friend by engaging in multiple scenarios aimed at making her feel better. He first tries to cheer her up by playing air guitar. He then overzealously takes her side. Then he tries to replace her best friend by getting her a goldfish, but that doesn’t work out. In the end, he figures out the best way to make her feel better is to just be there for her no matter what. The lesson is that you don’t have to be perfect to be a perfect parent.
Bill: male, age late 30s – early 50s. Bill is a caring, if slightly awkward father. He loves his daughter and wants her to be happy. He’ll try anything to make sure that happens.
Molly: female, age 14 – 18. Molly is a sweet girl that appreciates what her father does to cheer her up, even though she thinks it’s unnecessary. She’ll love him no matter what.
Narrator: male, age 20s – 30s. The narrator is a voice only role. He is a calm, matter of fact representative of the actions that the father can take to cheer up his daughter.
