Casting for a TV pilot:
“Jesse’s Jukebox” – A series about a quirky teacher and his students taking imaginative adventures and learning about life.
Video Auditions- Kids would read from the script and song provided.
Erek (Male age 8-10) – Erek is a very bright child in the third grade. He loves to create. He writes and draws comic books about funny characters and situations. His favorite subject in school is science and he’s fascinated by how things work. He’s very factual, but certainly has a lot to learn.
Sebrina (Female age 9-11)- Sebrina is also a very bright child in the fourth grade, but reads at an 8th-grade reading level (she often brags about it). Sebrina is the more logical one of the group, which can cause her to get annoyed sometimes when the gang gets themselves in completely crazy situations.
This will shoot in NE OH for 2-3 days, in late June or early July. This will be a paid job.

THERE’S MUSIC EVERYWHERE
A school hallway
1 SOUND: KIDS RUNNING AROUND, LOCKERS SLAMMING, FOOTSTEPS,
GENERAL SCHOOL AMBIANCE
2 VOICE: EREK
Hey Sebrina!
3 VOICE: SEBRINA
Hey Erek! What are you doing?
4 VOICE: EREK
I’m just seeing if Jesse is in his office
(KNOCKING ON THE DOOR)
5 SOUND: DOOR OPENING
6 VOICE: JESSE
Hey! Erek and Sebrina! What’s going on you two?
7 VOICE: EREK
We just wanted to see what you were up to.
8 VOICE: JESSE
Well, I was just getting to ready to play some music
9 VOICE: SEBRINA
Oh you mean like on your phone?
10 VOICE: JESSE
From my phone? No! I mean with my guitar and my
voice. You guys want to jam?
11 VOICE: SEBRINA
Like what you put on toast?
12 VOICE: JESSE
Toast? No! Oh just come on in. I’ll show you what i
mean.
13 SOUND: FOOTSTEPS, DOOR CLOSE
14 VOICE: JESSE
Let me just tune my guitar and we will be ready to go.
15 SOUND: TUNING GUITAR

That sounds pretty good, just a little bit more….
17 SOUND: GUITAR TUING. GUITAR STRINGS BREAKS STRINGS POPPING,
BOING!
18 VOICE: JESSE
Whoops.
19 VOICE: KIDS
Oh no!

Your guitar broke!
21 VOICE: SEBRINA
How are we going to jam now?
22 VOICE: JESSE
Now hold on, it’s not broken for good. I just need to
replace this string. But in the meantime, with a
little imagination, we can make music in other ways.
23 VOICE: EREK
What do you mean?
24 VOICE: SEBRINA
How do you expect us to make music with no instruments?
25 VOICE: EREK
You know, sometimes he says the craziest things!
26 VOICE: JESSE
It’s not that crazy! We can use all sorts of things to
make music! Let’s see what we have… hmmm….
27 SOUND: SHUFFLING OF ITEMS. JESSE IS DIGGING THROUGH A PILE
OF THINGS
28 VOICE: JESSE
Oh… Here….. We have pots and pans
29 SOUND: POT BANGING
30 VOICE: JESSE
Oh, and rubber bands
31 SOUND: RUBBER BANDS BOING!

And we can always clap with our hands.

Alright. Hmm… here, let me show you!

(AFTER SONG)

I totally get it now Jesse! You know, letting air out
of the balloon sounds a lot like a….
37 VOICE: SEBRINA
Erek! No! They’re recording this!
38 SOUND: CRASH!!! BOOM!!!
39 VOICE: SEBRINA
What was that?
40 VOICE: JESSE
I don’t know. Myebe we should go find out?
41 VOICE: EREK
uhhh, I don’t know. What if it’s something scary, like
a… buh buh buh buh burglar?
42 VOICE: SEBRINA
Or a monster?
43 VOICE: EREK
Or someone giving a lecture about broccoli?

What?

Well, that’s enough to scare me!

Well hey, I can be a pretty brave guy. I bet you can
too. In fact, some might even mistake us for
superheros!

Um…. Who’s mistaking us for that?

Its ok kids. we’re already in orbit. Take a look out

From up here, we are brave space explorers! We are the
Northern chapter of the extraterristial solar system
stargazers of galaxy exploriation and field studies.

Uhhhh…. I think we can come up with a better name…

You might be on to something with that whole crazy
theory.

The space kids?

Hey, I’ve seen these guys on my travels before. they
love to go crazy!
102 VOICE: EREK
Oh good, you’ll fit right in
103 VOICE: SEBRINA
are you trying to say they go bananas?
104 VOICE: JESSE
i’m afraid its even worse than that! They go coconuts!
105 SOUND: COCONUTS TAPPING

That set up was easy.
108 VOICE: EREK
Yeah, almost too easy. So what do we do?
109 VOICE: JESSE
Well, we have to blend in. Quick! We need to start
going coconuts too!
110 VOICE: SEBRINA
That does it! This day has been crazy enough as it is,
and now we are on some strange planet with
intergalactic coconuts? I can’t take it anymore! I
can’t just start going coconuts like that!
111 VOICE: EREK
Yeah, me neither. In fact, my teacher has said i’m
quite the “reserved child”, whatever that means.
112 VOICE: JESSE
You can do it kids! Try to think of some things that
make you go coconuts!

113 VOICE: KIDS
We don’t know!
114 VOICE: SEBRINA
What about you? What makes you go coconuts?
(COCONUTS STARTS PLAYING)

115 VOICE: JESSE
It’s working! We went coconuts, just like them!
116 VOICE: EREK
Yeah! And while they were distracted, I set the right
coordinates on the spaceship so we can get home.
117 VOICE: SEBRINA
Wait, how did you know how to do that?
118 VOICE: EREK
Never underestimate the knowledge of a child! Plus
science is my favorite subject!
119 VOICE: JESSE
umm.. ok… Well, lets get home!
120 SOUND: SPACESHIP BEEPING, TAKING OFF

We made it!

We sure did! Except I can’t help but feel a little
sad.

Well, our adventure is over and you have to go. What
