Deaf and Annoying Character Descriptions:

Amer – A mid twenties man who after over a decade of being deaf, regains his hearing. During the time he was deaf he isolated himself only finding comfort in his mother and his girlfriend at the time, Beatrice. He is very reserved but very observant, often being able to read people’s lips and reading expressions. He meets Melody and the world of music opens up to him.

Melody – A woman in her 20’s who’s calling in life revolves around music. She is very rumbustious often cursing and forthcoming. She always speaks her mind and is not someone to mess with. She recently regained her eyesight and aims to see everything that this world has to offer. She loves music and is facilitated by Amer, who has just regained his hearing. She is often misunderstood and feels like no one understands what she’s going and gone through but masks her insecurities well.

Jenna – Early 50’s Amer’s mom who felt guilty over her son’s deafness, often attributing it to her mistake. She gets her second wind when Amer starts to go out on his own again with a punkish little lass. All she wants is her family to be happy.

Beatrice- early 20’s, Amer’s ex-girlfriend who is scorned that he left her after he received his cochlear implants. She is very manipulative, often guilt tripping Amer to stay with her. She doesn’t really love him but more so the power she has over him.

Dr. Austen – (respectable age) the doctor who treats Amer. He is a caring man, often nonchalant. He wants what all good doctor’s want, to treat their patients.
