CASTING CALL
Wish I Was Here, student Project
This is a student directing project at the University of Texas. The goal is to take established material from an already-made film (in this case, Zach Braff’s 2014 film, Wish I Was Here) and reshoot the scene with new actors and a fresh perspective. This is a great opportunity to work with proven, successful material in a low-stress environment.
Unpaid – Food and a digital file for reel.
ROLES:
AIDAN (25-35yo, male, any ethnicity): A young, unsuccessful actor in Los Angeles who struggles to provide for his wife and two kids. He is kind and contemplative, but has a hard time balancing his need to be a good father and husband with his desire to ‘chase his dreams’.
SARAH (25-35yo, female, any ethnicity): A hard-working mother who has taken on an undesirable job so that she may provide for her family while her husband, Aidan, tries (unsuccessfully) to ‘make it’ as an actor in Los Angeles. She is loving and supportive of her husband, however family and financial troubles have led her to realize that her relationship with Aidan is unfair.
