‘Magic’ Music Video – Treya Lam

Casting for a MOTHER and DAUGHTER role for a music video by Artist Treya Lam. Actresses will need to be able to dance modern and contemporary style dance. Auditions and Shoot location will be in New York.
Story: A distraught mother, 35, visits the beach alone. It is the site of her daughter’s death, and she is there to mourn. Though the mother cannot see her, the daughter, 10, in a beautifully haunting dress, appears and begins dancing around her mother. The daughter’s presence moves her mother, makes her sway and dance, almost puppeteering her. The child’s dance revisits the violence of her accidental drowning, and that energy causes the mother to collapse in despair down onto the sand. With a gentle hand, the daughter’s spirit picks her mother up, and they dance together, though in reality, the mother’s dancing alone. The dance, by the end, heals the mother.
Roles:
MOTHER – 25-40 years old, FEMALE. ALL ETHNICITIES. Character is a single mother, working-class, works two jobs, waitress during the day, bartender at night. Her daughter is her only child, and deeply loves her. Must be able to dance modern and contemporary dance styles and some improvisational dance.
DAUGHTER – 9-13 years old, FEMALE. ALL ETHNICITIES. Character is a 10 year old daughter, loves the water, nature. She is free, has the essence of bird flying high in the sky. Loves her mother. When she appears in spirit form, she is emotionless and ghostly. Must be able to dance modern and contemporary dance styles and some improvisational dance.

Shoot Date: May 15, 2018 (1 day shoot)
