Casting for Youth-Led Short Film

Location: Vermont

Type: Film

CASTING CALL FOR SHORT FILM

My name is Madeleine Kern. I’m an award-winning youth filmmaker based out of Morrisville, VT and Queensbury, NY. I’ve made two documentaries- ‘Bake-Off’ (2017), and ‘Big Cats’ (2018), which have been accepted to numerous film festivals. My next project is a narrative short film titled ‘That Which is Loved’.

I am looking to cast four teenage girls to play the four characters in the film. There is very minimal dialogue, so I am opting against a standard audition process. Instead, please choose a monologue from a play, movie, etc., and record yourself reciting it. Email (or text) the resulting video to me.

My contact information is listed below. Choose a monologue that allows you to demonstrate a range of expressions; as ‘That Which is Loved’ is a visually driven film with almost no dialogue, it is up to you to carry the story through movement and expression. I look forward to seeing your auditions and potentially working with you! Do not hesitate to email or text me with any questions.
