Synopsis:
Seeking conversation and air-conditioning, a recent college graduate regularly frequents his neighborhood bar. He and an (unreciprocated) love interest often banter in philosophical paragraphs, while their conversations are commented on by an omniscient narrator.
Roles:
[ERIC] [GENDER: MALE] [20-23]
Recent college graduate who has not quite outgrown his classroom persona. Eager to engage with the world, but currently only able to do so abstractly. Actor must be able to handle long sequences of uninterrupted dialogue and deliver sometimes inflated language with total earnestness.
[MATTIE] [GENDER: FEMALE] [LATE 20s EARLY 30s]
Young professional on the path to success, though still questioning the potential for fulfillment in her career and relationship. Possesses a wry sense of humor and also must be able to handle long sequences of uninterrupted dialogue and deliver sometimes inflated language–though with slightly more irony than [Eric].
[WENDY] [GENDER: FEMALE] [20-23]
The narrator. Almost exclusively narrates in voice-over, with a brief on-screen cameo at the end. Friendly, empathetic, and intelligent.
