“Shameless” is back for round 10 on Showtime.
Chicago area locals have a chance to get in the act so to speak as the show is filming… and casting background actors, now. Extras casting directors for the show are now releasing casting calls for paid background actors. The series does film in the Chicago area and those that would like to be considered for a small, non-speaking role must be local to the chicagoland area as no travel expenses are being paid.
“Shameless” is coming back for a 10th season. The show is based on Paul Abbott’s award-winning British series which shares the same name. Looks like the 10th season of Shameless will be premiering on Showtime on November 3rd. The long running show originally premiered in the winter of 2011.
All roles are paid and casting directors at Chicago’s 4 Star Casting have set-up an online availability form that they would like potential talent to fill out in order to be considered for any of the available small, non-speaking roles. The show is currently taking submissions and you can see current needs below.
“Shameless” is described as a bit of a a twisted series which centers around the completely dysfunctional Gallagher family.
Oscar-nominated actor William H. Macy stars as Frank Gallagher, a single father of six who spends much of his free time drinking at bars. The Gallagher children — led by oldest daughter Fiona (Emmy Rossum), who takes on much of the child-rearing responsibility due to her mother’s absence — manage to raise themselves in spite of Frank’s lack of parenting and unusual parenting style when he does choose to act like a father. The drama is an adaptation of the BAFTA Award-winning British show of the same name. – Showtime.
