Logline: On the anniversary of the invasion of Nanjing (Nanking), a Japanese bartender and an old Japanese man find refuge in a bar until interrupted by a young Chinese male.

PARTS:

Ma Kangyan: (Male, 20s) MUST BE FLUENT IN MANDARIN. A street-worn, young Chinese male who looks like he doesn’t take shit from anyone. He’s intelligent and sarcastic but also wise beyond his years. He’s patient and respectful.

Yu: (Male or Female, 30-40) MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH SPEAKING JAPANESE. A Japanese bartender who has been through a lot and doesn’t want to take shit from anybody. They are compassionate with the people they like and cold towards others.

Ray Ishizaki: (Male, 40-60) MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH SPEAKING JAPANESE. Ray is a quiet old man who has a lot of pain and regret in his heart. He is good at keeping his composure and being able to listen while not giving away his true feelings.
