OFC Creations and the Lyric Theatre announce auditions for the Rochester premiere of:
THE BODYGUARD: THE MUSICAL
Musical soundtrack features Whitney Houston’s greatest hits, based off the iconic 1992 film.
Auditions will be held:
Sunday, February 3 at 11AM and Thursday, February 7 at 6:30PM
at the Lyric Theatre, 440 East Ave (pick one of two days)
Performances will be May 3-12 on the Lyric Theatre Main Stage
Rehearsals will begin mid-March. Saturdays, Sundays, Wednesdays, and occasionally other dates –
will increase closer to performances.

Auditioners should be prepared to dance first then vocal auditions.
Please prepare one 32-bar cut of a contemporary musical theatre or pop song, please bring sheet music with you. Accompanist will be provided.

Synopsis: Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge; what they don’t expect is to fall in love. A breathtakingly romantic thriller and West End smash hit, The Bodyguard features a host of irresistible classics including “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” “So Emotional,” “How Will I Know,” “I’m Every Woman,” “Saving All My Love,” “Run to You,” “I Have Nothing,” and one of the biggest selling songs of all time – “I Will Always Love You.” Based off the 1992 film of the same name starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner.

Frank Farmer – The Bodyguard. Non-singing.
Fletcher – Black, age 11. Rachel’s young son. Minimal singing.
The Stalker – Our villain. Ages 20+ Minimal singing.
Sy Spector – Rachel’s uptight publicist. Age 40+ Non-singing.
Bill Devaney – Rachel’s manager. Age 30+ Non-singing.
Tony Scibelli – Rachel’s security. Age 20+ Non-singing.
Ensemble – Casting 10-12 strong dancers and vocalists. Roles may double as featured parts with lines throughout production. (Additional roles include: Klingman, Assassin, Rory, Douglas, Ray Court, DJ, Backup Vocalist, College Girls, Jimmy, Stage Manager, Host)
