Calling all Sopranos – Audition for BLACKOUT NYC A Cappella.

BLACKOUT is holding auditions for SOPRANOS!
BLACKOUT NYC is a New York City based, semi-pro, co-ed a cappella group. We rehearse once a week in Manhattan. Recent gigs include The Today Show, Elsie Fest with Matthew Morrison, and the Hudson Yards opening. We perform our own headlining gigs and professional gigs year round. Please note – this is not a paying gig. We all have full time jobs and sing for the *thrill* in a semi-pro setting!
Here’s how to audition:
– Email us a video of a verse and chorus of a popular song that showcases your range
– talk to us about your musical background – any past a cappella experience, arranging experience, musical leadership experience, and/or musicianship prowess (e.g. music theory knowledge).
– Videos/recordings of past a cappella solos or arrangements (as applicable) are great additional color if you have any
– if you can do vocal percussion too, freestyle some of that as well.
Videos must be emailed for consideration to hello@blackout-nyc.com in one of the following formats:
unlisted YouTube or Vimeo link, Dropbox link, or Google Drive link.
