LOUIS ARMSTRONG… (Aug. 4, 1901–July 6, 1971.)
Age range 21 -70. Preferred actor age about 30-45. Second husband of Lil Hardin. Short, stocky (actually 5’6”; weight fluctuated from 170-230). Looking for an actor on the lighter end of the weight scale. Dark-skinned. Brilliant musician with no business sense, an outwardly humble manner, and a deeply inferior sense of self-worth that leads him to take advice from others—except when it comes to music. New Orleans accent (similar to Brooklyn). No need to play trumpet. MUST SING, move well, and convincingly portray Louis. Ability to scat a plus.
