Child Auditions: The Christmas Revels: “Celestial Fools”

Audition for the 37th annual Christmas Revels and help Washington Revels bring to life a timeless fable of the Winter Solstice! As the days grow short, a trio of traveling players from far-off lands arrives in a small European village, sharing the rich tapestry of their cultures’ music, dances, and stories with the townsfolk. But when the darkest night finally arrives, these visitors reveal themselves to be far more than simple entertainers and they embark on a celestial journey to reclaim the light and restore its warmth to the world.
The Children’s Chorus is an essential part of this production: each child is grouped with a stage family and together the Children’s Chorus creates some of the most memorable moments of this production, brightening the stage with playful singing games and charming melodies. Join tradition bearers Karim Nagi, Shizumi Shigeto Manale & Mark Novak and take part in one of Washington’s best-loved holiday traditions, seen by an audience of 10,000 adults and kids each December. Children’s auditions (entering grades 3-5) will be held at the Washington Revels Studio Space in Silver Spring, MD on Friday & Saturday, September 6 & 7; callbacks Sunday, September 8. An appointment is required, no walk-ins; audition scheduling opens on August 12.
