OPEN CASTING CALL FOR LOVE & SOUTHERN DISCOMFORT
Beautiful, accomplished, Milla Dejoie receives a phone call in the middle of the night from her estranged mother, Wilhelmina. Her grandmother, Thee, Mrs Dejoie, dowager of polite society, is dead and, along with her, their inheritance – unless Milla comes home to bury her.

Black Arts MKE and Patton Daye Slater Productions are seeking strong actors, dancers and singers. They are especially seeking mature character actors for featured roles. Performers must be available for all rehearsal and performance dates.

Featuring Tony Award Nominee Felicia P. Fields from The Color Purple, Love & Southern D!scomfort blends the lush backdrop of rural Louisiana with unbridled jealousy, joy, and pain as it weaves a gripping tale about an old-money family torn apart by money, addiction and the revelation of a long buried family secret.

AUDITIONS:
Auditions will be held on Saturday, February 22nd, 1:00PM – 5:00PM and Monday, February 24th – 5:00pm – 9:00pm at Studio 4A, 123 East State Street, 4th Floor – inside Marcus Center. APPOINTMENT REQUIRED. EMAIL RESUME & HEADSHOT TO info@blackartsmke.org.

Please prepare 16-32 bars of an up-tempo and ballad. (You may not be asked to sing both.) Bring sheet music in correct key. An accompanist will be provided but will not transpose (a cappella is not encouraged).

Callbacks are invite only and will be held February 25th. If called back to dance, bring appropriate shoes and attire.
