45 PLAYS FOR AMERICA’S FIRST LADIES

Davis Repertory Theatre, a new professional theatre company in Davis, CA, is holding auditions for its inaugural production, 45 PLAYS FOR AMERICA’S FIRST LADIES. The show is a full length play composed of 45 scenes, each one exploring one of the First Ladies, from Martha to Melania. The play incorporates song, dance, puppetry, and feminist historiography in a sometimes hilarious and sometimes heartbreaking exploration of what it has meant (or not meant) to serve in this complex and often misunderstood role.
Who
AEA/non-Union. We are seeking 5-8 humans who are female-identified and/or non-binary. Actors of color are especially encouraged to audition. Devising experience a plus but not required. Must be an enthusiastic if not necessarily virtuosic singer. All actors will be paid.
