Casting Call for co-star in coming of age/LGBTQ short film “Calling” (Paid Opportunity, Non-Union)
Location: College Park, GA
Type: Film
Casting for a short film set to start production in late February (15th – 19th). All positions are contractual and paid. Must be local, we will be filming in College Park, GA.
Logline: Overworked and short-spoken custodian Toni struggles to find a ride home when a customer comes in looking for his missing daughter after hours.
Description: Weary custodian, Toni, finds himself behind on his work while closing out one night. Desperate to get home, and with no ride, he picks up his pace when a suave customer, B, comes in looking for his missing daughter after hours. When the kindred souls meet, what starts as a routine shift, turns into a disturbingly intimate night between the two.
Available Position(s):
Casting Clay: 18+yrs (African-American, Male, Cis or Non-Binary) – Must be available to rehearse at least one day before the shoot. Actor will be needed for 2 days, 3 hours each day. This is a paid contractual position with a flat rate of $150. If interested email a monologue (under 3mins) or reel, along with a headshot (experience is a plus).
Clay is in his late 20’s, charismatic, city with a little country (think East Atlanta accents), animated and expressive yet suave and subtle in his demeanor. He is Bi and has a daughter whom he is deeply invested in. He’s not afraid to fail or look like a fool, and he says what’s on his heart (wears his heart on his sleeve). He has a strained relationship with his baby mother but makes it work. He’s passionate about his art but is a hustler and will make sacrifices to take care of his responsibilities. Secretly a romantic but is fearful of being vulnerable and taking risk in his love life.
Payment: Paid
City or Location of call: College Park, GA
