A Mexican-American story based in Providence where a family falls apart as they gradually become successful opening the first tortilleria business in RI. Only one woman can hold the legacy and meaning of family together, none other than abue!
REQUIREMENTS:

PLAY AN INSTRUMENT A PLUS!
LOOKING FOR THE FOLLOWING ROLES:
MARTA (LEAD): 20s-60s, The backbone of her husband’s success. The wife of Fernando and the mother of Rosa and Jorge. Through the course of the play we see Marta transform into this young and quiet young lady into a wise and valiant owner of the tortilleria which she carries on the family legacy. NOTE: SINGING BACKGROUND PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
BERNARDO (SUPPORTING): 30-40s, best known as husband of Claudia. The founder of the tortilleria and the first from Fernando’s family to leave Mexico to the United States. He is father of Fernando. He is tall, hardworking and ambitious. NOTE: SINGING AND DANCING BACKGROUND PREFERRED
ROSA (SUPPORTING): 17-20s, daughter of Marta and Fernando. She is loving to her mother and supports her in Marta’s toughest times. She is bilingual but prefers to speak Spanish to her family. NOTE: SINGING AND DANCING BACKGROUND PREFERRED.
JORGE (SUPPORTING): 17-20, son of FERNANDO and Marta. Calm and loving to his mother. Bilingual but prefers to speak in English to his family and parents.NOTE: SINGING AND DANCING BACKGROUND PREFERRED.
LAURA (SUPPORTING): Around early 20s, a flirtatious beautiful young woman, former worker of the tortilleria. NOTE: SINGING AND DANCING BACKGROUND PREFERRED.
STIPEND PROVIDED FOR PERFORMERS.
REHEARSAL START: Late April 2020 with PERFORMANCE Last week of May 2020. More details of stipend, rehearsal dates available day of audition.

BUSCANDO LOS SIGUIENTES ROLES:
MARTA (PRINCIPAL): 20-60 años, la columna vertebral del éxito de su esposo. La esposa de Fernando y la madre de Rosa y Jorge. En el transcurso de la obra, vemos a Marta transformarse en esta joven y tranquila señorita en una sabia y valiente dueña de la tortillería que lleva el legado familiar. NOTA: CAPACIDAD DE CANTO PREFERIDO PERO NO REQUERIDO
BERNARDO (APOYO): 30-40 años, mejor conocido como esposo de Claudia. El fundador de la tortillería y el primero de la familia de Fernando en salir de México a los Estados Unidos. Es el padre de Fernando. Es alto, trabajador y ambicioso. NOTA: CAPACIDAD DE CANTO Y BAILE PREFERIDO
ROSA (APOYO): 17-20 años, hija de Marta y Fernando. Ella ama a su madre y la apoya en los momentos más difíciles de Marta. Ella es bilingüe pero prefiere hablar español a su familia. NOTA: CAPACIDAD DE CANTO Y BAILE PREFERIDO.
JORGE (APOYO): 17-20, hijo de FERNANDO y Marta. Tranquilo y amoroso con su madre. Bilingüe, pero prefiere hablar en inglés con su familia y sus padres. NOTA: CAPACIDAD DE CANTAR Y BAILAR.
LAURA (APOYANDO): Alrededor de los 20 años, una joven hermosa y coqueta, ex trabajadora de la tortillería. NOTA: CAPACIDAD DE CANTO Y BAILE PREFERIDO.
INICIO DE ENSAYO: Finales de abril de 2020 con RENDIMIENTO Última semana de mayo de 2020. Más detalles sobre el estipendio, fechas de ensayo disponibles el día de la audición.
