Phillip Cayce character is based on the Philando Castile’s story

32 years old, tall Black/African American male. A hard-working, devoted son to his mother Valerie, his long-time girlfriend Diamond. His hair style was long locs. Castile was licensed to carry a firearm. He was laid-back, quiet individual that worked hard every day, payed taxes, and go home to play video games. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Saint Paul Central High School in 2001 and worked for the Saint Paul Public School District from 2002 until his death. Castile began as a nutrition services assistant at Chelsea Heights Elementary School and Arlington High School (now Washington Technology Magnet School). He was promoted to nutrition services supervisor at J. J. Hill Montessori Magnet School, in August 2014. He frequently paid for lunches for students who owed money or could not afford to pay. Castile was a “straight-A student” when he attended St. Paul Central High School.

STORYLINE

The film is a day in the life of Philando Castile, his long-time girlfriend Diamond Reynolds and her four-year-old daughter on July 6, 2016. That day ended fatally when Castile was shot by Officer Yanezot at close range seven times, hitting him five times. Castile died at 9:37 p.m. at Hennepin County Medical Center, about 20 minutes after being shot. His girlfriend and her daughter witnessed the murder.
