Driving Lessons

During a driving lesson, Briana (16) and her dad’s girlfriend Karen (48) get into a heated argument about Karen’s intentions for being a part of this broken family.
Driving Lessons is a short film made in association with SMU Film & Media Arts.
Roles :
Briana (Lead): All Genders, 15-18
Briana’s family has been torn apart by her father’s new girlfriend. She’d be happy if she could just ignore Karen, but she is easily pushed over the edge when the two are forced to interact.
Karen (Lead): Female, 35-50
Karen wants to have a connection with her boyfriend’s daughter. She means well but can’t help pointing out Briana’s flaws. When she is provoked. she struggles to find a balance between authoritarian and friend.
Ethnicity: White / European Descent
Non-paid and Non-union. Meals will be provided.
We intend to submit to film festivals.
