Acting and script reading for software-oriented YouTube videos
Location: San Francisco, CA
Type: Educational
DESCRIPTION
We need an actor to play the role of a software engineer who is explaining new concepts, giving tutorials, or generally talking about the code being shared in the video. This entails reading out the scripts for our videos at a desk in front of a camera while the majority of the screen follows the code.
This is a San Francisco-based project and requires the actor to commute to the filming location periodically.
We want to increase the rate we produce videos for our YouTube channel that targets software engineers: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxVRDu9ujwOrmDxu72V3ujQ
We will write the script and can coach you to feel comfortable with the somewhat technical material.
We want to be able to meet in person with you in San Francisco to film these videos on an ongoing basis. However, we are open to remote arrangements only if you have sufficient experience with this ready-for-YouTube, code-style content (see example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTeVOb8gaD4)
REQUIREMENTS
We’re looking for individuals ages 20-40. No preference for gender. English fluency a must.
Prior experience working with technical content a plus.
Advising on video production a plus.
TIME & COMPENSATION
Pays $50/hour, non-union
This is an ongoing project (several months) with the opportunity to scale up hours to 8-10 hours per week over the next several weeks as script writing picks up speed.
