Casting a voice actor for a proof-of-concept excerpt from an audio drama that recasts the Robin Hood legend as a dark political tale.
You are auditioning for a full-day recording session in NEW YORK CITY of a proof-of-concept excerpt from a proposed limited series. This is to be fully acted, as opposed to recorded in a booth, and you will be asked to be off-book so you can move freely in the space and interact with your fellow cast members in order to more fully inhabit your character.
This is a non-union job with a rate is $200 for the day. Usage of the recorded material is internal/noncommercial and is not for broadcast or internet use.
Please read the character description below for direction. The actor must be able to speak with a British RP accent. You can find a link to an accent reference for the character below. Native Brits are preferred, but anyone who feels they can deliver a realistic accent is welcome to audition. Please do not apply if you are not in the NYC area.
ROLE:
SIR GUY OF GISBORNE
An honorable career soldier. Prince John’s right-hand man and only real friend. He saw terrible things during the last war, and they have left him somewhat damaged. He is a man of deeply felt emotions that he tries to suppress but he is not always successful at it. When he loses control, his powerful be can be frightening, but when he is around Prince John, he is humble as a good soldier should be to his commander. In his mid 40s. Speaks with a deep and resonant voice in an “RP” accent. Example here:
