Due to the recent global pandemic, there are millions of preschool kids stuck at home. Parents
still need to work during this time and are looking for a blend of educational and entertainment
based content to occupy their children.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR EDUCATORS AND PERFORMERS TO HELP!
ALL PERFORMERS WILL BE FILMING THEMSELVES FROM THEIR HOMES
If you have a camera and a spare room to film yourself, we are looking for the following:
-Singers with access to an instrument (ie. piano or guitar)
-People who can do arts and crafts
– Early Learning Educators
-Actor/Singers (must have experience with children’s entertainment)

Early Learning Educators
We are looking for early learning educators to present 15 minute
lessons to preschool aged children.
We will share topics and episode structure in advance, however,
the actual content and learning will be up to you, so it’s important
you have experience in this field.
Some lesson ideas: numbers, shapes, letters, animals, bath time,
dinner time, opposites etc.

Audition Structure:

and the song of the video
? The song (repeating segments, learning,
teaching, actions etc) – approx. 8 minutes
? Sign off from Singer
Singers (with access to instrument)
We are looking for singer / musicians to host sing-a-longs. The
episodes will be approximately 10 minutes for a 2 minute song
(which we will provide in advance), so will involve discussion,
movement / actions, encouragement, teaching etc. Ideally you
would have experience in teaching music to your children.

Actor/Singers
We are looking for actor/singers to read children’s books as per
the reference images. We will provide books, but for the audition,
please read something you have at home.
You will need to have a soft tone appropriate for a bedtime book
reading routine and the episode will finish with a short song.

? We require a very clear camera angle so we
can see everything you make
Arts and Crafts
We are looking for people who are good at arts and crafts. There
will be no presenting involved, for these videos we will only see
your hands, so no presenting experience is necessary. However, it
will be advantageous if you / someone in your household has
experience with cameras, as the set up is a little more
complicated than the other segments.
Please see some camera angle examples for the best way to
shoot a crafts video. NB. We will edit this video, so if there are long
segments, don’t worry, we can speed these up.

Technical Tips
We will endeavour to send you some lighting equipment and a microphone, though given the current situation, it’s unclear if we
will definitely be able to get that to you. So, we would like your audition to be an example of how you would shoot content,
should equipment not be able to get to you. Here are some pointers (though we will of course guide you at a later date):
Please ensure that your recording device is set to record at the following specs:
– 1920 x 1080 / 25fps
– If possible, lock exposure so that this doesn’t changing during filming
– Ensure that autofocus is on (if filming on an iPhone or Android device this should be the case by default.)
– If no autofocus is available on your camera/lens then please ensure proper focus is held throughout the recording.
Please ensure the following with regards to the shooting set-up:
– You are evenly lit from the front, not backlit, and that there are no harsh shadows on your face.
– There are no harsh shadows in the room around you, we want the space to look as friendly as possible 🙂
– Please ensure there is no inappropriate or third-party artwork in shot.
When filming, you will need to make sure that your voice and any other live sound can be heard audibly in the recording.
Please ensure the following:
– You are filming in a quiet environment with no background noise that will interfere with the recording.
– You are filming in a room which has minimal echo, ideally a room with a lot of soft furnishings.
– You are positioned not too far away from the recording device so that the microphone can clearly pick up your voice.
– You may have access to an external microphone and/or audio recording device. If this is the case then this will be the
prefered way to record the sound, so it can be synced with the visuals after.

Please don’t follow up with emails, we understand this is a stressful time and you are all extremely
keen to work. However, we will be able to get through more auditions and create better opportunities
if we aren’t replying to chase up emails. We will be in touch if we are interested in you and will also do
our best to let everyone know the outcome regardless.
The payment for the job will be $100 for a half an hour slot. For the shorter segments, they will be done
in batches of two or three to make up 30 minutes. You will be paid as a self employed / freelancer.
