Hi there! This is just a little idea I came up with to help with a problem that I know a lot of actors who are still trying to break into the industry have trouble with. As a young actor, I’ve noticed that it is very difficult to get cast in things when you don’t have many credits. The problem here is, how are you supposed to get these credits if you can’t get cast in the first place? Well I think I found a solution.
I decided to start a club of high school aged actors, writers, and film makers so we could help each other start to get credits. Basically, what we’d do is create short films and such. We would meet online to create and cast our own film all together. When all the pre-production is over, we will meet in person to film.
Since we should all be in the Bay Area, we can chose a location together and times that work for all of us. Then we’d put together the film and enter it into film festivals to try and get our names out there. It would be a great way to get material for reels and credits. I’m looking for about 10-20 members to be in the club who are hard working and determined. It is important that you live in the Bay Area and are a high schooler.
