This is a nonunion table read. There is no pay. Casting closes July 31 table read will be August 21. We will have 2 practice readings before the actual table read on 8/1 and 8/15 at 7 pm. Must be available for both dates. Will be Eastern standard time. Table read will be recorded. Actors and table read audience will be asked to sign a NDA. Must download Microsoft Teams for practice. Table read will be remote for COVID precautions. Must have a reliable wifi and quiet background.

Story is set in the 80’s to late 90’s, in the south, Watkinsville GA. Southern accents are a plus.

Ruth (Lead) 13- late 30’s Ruth is a mentally disabled African American teen/woman with an amazing singing voice. (Actor must be able to sing or at least hold a note in your pocket.)
Betty (Lead) 16-30s Betty is the older sister of Ruth and her caretaker. Mild manner
